A word from Steve
It’s hard to believe that it has been over 6 months since Stage 1 of the Great New Zealand Trek. With 270 participants either riding, biking or walking over 200 kms of wild country in style it was a fantastic experience.
At the moment I am busy setting up new trek quarters in Dargaville, having just finished filming 10,000 B.C. in the South Island snow, South African bush and Namibian desert. A story about mammoth hunters that are taken as slaves to build pyramids – coming soon to a screen near you
!
In the meantime Dawn and Kitty have been working on the Trek and have been keeping me up to date. The new website is now up and running at www.greatnewzealandtrek.com and we will have route and other information available on line as it is confirmed.
Past participants would be aware that there was an early bird special if they signed up before October 31st 2007. We’re pleased to say that the response was huge and we have over 100 people already registered for Stage Two. From today we will be marketing the trek to the general public so if you know you want to do it but haven’t yet got around to signing up we would encourage you to do so. We would also love it if you could forward this newsletter or a link to our new website on to your friends and family and encourage them to join us in what I am sure will be a continuation of a great adventure.
I look forward to seeing you again at the start point of Stage 2!
Best Regards,

Steve Old
